This past weekend St. Louis was treated to amazing performances by both Rick Weaver's Dinner Music project and Austin, TX's Cruddy. However, what seemed to stand out on its own was a set by What We Won't See, the new project of Brain Transplant's Chris Smentkowski. Teaming up with Scott Tallent on bass guitar, Smentkowski takes the reigns on guitar in this drum machine-driven band. Similar in sound to the likes of Big Black and Suicide, WWWS's songs ride the post-punk mindwave with textural guitar phrases and throbbing bass.
